Criminal Defense

“A guilty man punished is an example for the mob; an innocent
man convicted is the business of every honest person.”

-Jean de La Bruyere (1688)

Although at the CCCA we understand that the boisterous sea of liberty is never without a wave, we also must ensure that when that wave hits, it does not destroy the lives of innocent people. It is important for me to point out that we firmly stand behind and support our local, state and federal law enforcement. We do, however, understand that sometimes individuals within those systems mislead and often pass off untruths in their pursuit of justice.

Because of this, the American criminal justice system sometimes fails. One price of these failures is the loss of life and livelihood for those unfortunate enough to be wrongfully convicted. Wrongful convictions of the innocent are the American criminal justice system's equivalent of a major catastrophe. The guilty are not punished, the innocent are imprisoned or sentenced to death, and the real perpetrators remain free to commit more crimes.

Every good criminal defense Attorney knows that a majority of what happens in trial is a direct result of the work done outside of the courtroom before the trial begins. This is achieved by critical legal research and rigorous investigation.

The investigators conducting criminal defense investigations at the CCCA are required to complete a stringent training program followed by an internship where they are partnered with a senior investigator and observed during various field assignments. In addition to this intensive training regimen, our investigators must possess experience; allowing them to recognize where any law enforcement errors or omissions may have occurred and to ensure that all proper procedures were followed during the law enforcement investigation. Our investigators also posses the appropriate self confidence and personality traits to work autonomously without the direct supervision of the defense counsel.

Our investigators conduct interviews with the assurance that every statement is correctly detailed and documented without bias in order to provide accurate and complete information to the defense Attorney. In this respect our investigators have the ability to write comprehensive and concise reports reflecting the truthfulness of the statement obtained, while excluding personal opinions.

Our investigators work for some of Oregon’s top Attorney’s and closely follow a high level of ethical standards. We are diligent in our investigations in an effort to ensure that the innocence or circumstances of the case are brought to light. We work tirelessly to ensure that no innocent person is convicted and that all of the facts of the case are brought into court on behalf of the defendant.

Criminal defense Attorney’s that have utilized our services to assist in the preparation of their criminal cases are familiar with the benefits to be derived from such investigative support. We are experts in providing proof of innocence, uncovering reasonable doubt, developing mitigation or determining the circumstances of the crime. Our work often culminates in dismissed cases or reduced sentences for the defendant.

All across the nation, thousands of people are currently housed in correctional facilities awaiting trial for crimes they did not commit. Let our professional and accomplished investigators assist you.
